Distinctive Design Events was founded and is operated by Michelle Plowey. Michelle has 14 years of extensive experience and knowledge of the event planning industry. She started her career as a planner back in the 90's with Aramark Corporation planning and executing events and corporate meetings for the International Business Development Division. With extensive travel through Europe and the United States, Michelle was introduced to many styles and trends in the planning industry. Michelle made the decision to leave the corporate event planning industry and moved into the hospitality market working with Hyatt Hotels in the Catering/Sales department.
After many years in Pennsylvania, Michelle relocated to Miami, FL where she had the opportunity to work with very famous, high end clientele who demanded new and innovative ideas for events. Being in Miami, it is no surprise that Michelle developed a keen eye for style and design. After 3 successful years of independent planning, Michelle switched gears and became the Director of Marketing & Events for a brand new event venue in South Beach, FL. Michelle put into place the operations for the venue, the contracts and established working relationships with multiple vendors in South Florida. This allowed Michelle the opportunity to act as a planner in addition to managing and overseeing the logistics involved with running and operating an event venue.
Now back in Pennsylvania, Michelle is excited to bring with her the experience she has obtained working in a very diverse and competitive event market in Miami, Fl. She brings to Pennsylvania's market fresh and innovative designs, but also posses the integral ideas and outlines that come with planning a traditional event.
Michelle is proud member of the International Special Events Society (ISES), Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC).
